Are you interested in enhancing your clinical portfolio and joining our Patient Flow and After Hours Management Team here at Northern Beaches Hospital?

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated skilled clinician to join our team as a Casual, After Hours Clinical Nurse Specialist (Grade 2) for periods of leave relief and other cover. In this role you will make an impact by providing clinical support, education and guidance to staff, particularly in the recognition and response to clinical deterioration in patients. You will support the nurses and patients by working closely with the After Hours Manager to assist with the provision of high quality nursing care and service here at Northern Beaches.

You will:

* Work with staff identified by the After Hours Manager (AHM) whose workload / skill mix or clinical needs requires support
* Respond to code calls / critical incidents and conduct debriefs with staff
* Participate in AHM and JMO group handover
* Liaise closely with the AHM to enable effective and efficient provision of service delivery after hours across the hospital
* Communicate and escalate all risks and incidents to the AHM
* Work autonomously to help support all nursing staff
* Provide the most appropriate response to situations involving both staff and clients

As a high performing team member you will bring:

* Current registration with AHPRA
* Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent as applicable & post graduate qualification
* 4 years post registration experience including 3 years working in relevant clinical area.
* Demonstrated mentoring to others in relation to clinical practice
* Demonstrated professional knowledge and judgment in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical skills
* Highly developed interpersonal skills
* Clinical expertise and passion for delivering quality patient-centred care
* Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
* Previous experience within a private hospital setting will be well regarded
* Flexibility and willingness to work after hours / rotating roster

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience (CNS Grade 2) against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF NSW Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2015 2019.
