Your role
The position of National Resourcing Manager has responsibility for developing and delivering national resourcing strategies, processes and tools to contribute to the firm's strategic talent management objectives.

This is a fantastic role for somebody looking for both a strategic and tactical focus in their next position. We are looking for candidates with in-house recruitment experience for an initial 10 month fixed term contract to cover parental leave.

Our Experienced Hires Resourcing Team is responsible for attracting and recruiting top talent for the firm. We have a leading recruitment brand in our industry and through a close working relationship with the Head of Resourcing & Workforce Planning – whom this role reports to – you will lead recruitment strategies alongside a team of recruitment experts.

Our Experienced Hires Resourcing function sits within our broader Resourcing and Workforce Planning Team, which is also home to our Allens Adapt colleagues and our Graduate Resourcing Team, who were ranked number one law firm in GradAustralia's rankings, number 2 overall in GradAustralias Top 100 and top law firm in the Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) Top 75. Our Resourcing and Workforce Planning Team is an integral part of the Allens People & Development (HR) Department. Your day

Your role as a National Resourcing Manager is responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Analysis and sourcing: designing and delivering innovative lateral sourcing strategies and solutions to meet the firm's needs, that support the firm's broader talent management strategy including: controlling costs, the attraction of critical talent, supporting inclusion & diversity, ensuring the alignment of capabilities with business needs and retaining talent.
  • Assessment and selection: reviewing, designing, developing and / or overseeing the implementation of national best practice selection and assessment processes and tools.
  • Market intelligence: staying abreast of market intelligence on the current state of the employment market (locally and overseas), high risk areas and resourcing practices being adopted by other leading organisations and applying to the firm's resourcing strategy and activity as required.
  • Project management: Coordinating team resources and consistently delivering projects on time, on budget and to desired quality.
  • Planning ahead and understanding how the team's work contributes to the firm strategy.
  • Process improvement: monitoring application of the firm's protocols, and seek to improve metrics, policies and processes or establish new ones. Actively promoting change within the firm, drawing upon a range of sources for solutions.
  • People management: ensuring strategic alignment and strong performance of the Experienced Hires Team through objective setting, coaching, addressing development needs, proactive performance management, capability building and retention strategies.
  • Stakeholder management; this role involves direct support and collaboration with our Partners, you will be skilled at working at the highest levels, driven by metrics and able to deliver at the most professional level.

Your clients
Building networks will ensure you are successful in your role as a National Resourcing Manager. Internally, you will partner with many parts of the firm, across various practice groups and departments. Your key internal stakeholder relationships will include Practice Group Leaders, Staff Partners, Corporate service directors and Corporate Service Managers. You will also partner closely with the broader People & Development team, including People & Development Consulting, Operations, Learning & Development, Talent & Engagement, Remuneration & Reward, Inclusion & Diversity Teams. Externally, you'll build relationships with our colleagues at Linklaters, Allens and Linklaters alumni, recruitment agents, talent management and recruitment suppliers / vendors as well as with candidates.

What you'll bring

  • Experience recruiting , ideally at a law firm, within professional services, or at a legal recruitment agency, within a high performance environment.
  • End-to-end recruitment experience, including managing multiple roles across multiple disciplines.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Direct sourcing abilities using social media, talent pooling and networks.
  • Knowledge and implementation of best practice recruitment methodologies and practices.
  • Analytical and reporting capabilities would be highly regarded.
  • Capacity to manage high-volume recruitment, with the ability co-ordinate multiple stakeholders in a fast paced environment.
  • Outstanding client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • An ability to establish a professional profile and internal networks.
  • An ability to bring fresh ideas and new ways to go to market to the team.

Work pattern
This is a fixed term opportunity for an initial 10 month period to cover parental leave.

We support a hybrid working model where working from home part of the week is the norm.
