The Position

St John of God Bunbury Hospital is seeking an energetic, forward thinking Perioperative Services to lead our cohesive and dynamic Operating and Angiography teams.

This is a pivotal role in achieving best practice outcomes for your key stakeholders - patients, doctors, caregivers (employees), the hospital and wider St John of God Health Care group.

You will focus on achieving excellence within your nursing unit or service, with high standards of nursing practice and patient centred care, effective stewardship of resources, commitment to developing teams, and building and maintaining strong relationships with your stakeholders, particularly doctors and the team in their Practice within the operating suite.

This position is being offered on a full time basis (76 hours a fortnight) working Monday to Friday.

The Requirements:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Currently registered with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Relevant post basic qualification in Perioperative Nursing and/or Management or significant recent post-registration experience and the ability to practice and lead at an advanced level.
  • Knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice
  • Commitment to nursing/midwifery and other clinical projects that are implemented in order to improve patient care.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Plan, assess and develop team and individual performance.
  • The ability to demonstrate leadership skills in accordance with the SJGHC Leadership Profile.
  • Work effectively and harmoniously within the multi-disciplinary health care team.
  • Develop professional relationships with medical practitioners, health professionals and others both internally and through external networks.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of continuous quality improvement principles.
  • Demonstrated experience in hospital accreditation processes.
  • Demonstrate a risk management approach to managing workplace health and safety.
  • High level of computer literacy.
