We’re looking for a values guided individual to join our Business Improvement team as a Principal Advisor Business Improvement (BI), focusing on coaching and supporting our operational BI teams develop and execute their improvement pipeline to support our iron ore operations.

The safe, efficient and sustainable productivity of our assets is at the heart of everything we do. You’ll be coaching the identification of the root cause of complex operational problems, supporting the identification of solutions and development of implementation plans. You and your team will also be instrumental in the delivery of the pathway by coaching operational stakeholders during execution.

What you’ll bring

You’re a critical thinker, well regarded by your peers, credible and able to lead and coach small teams to success. Confident and commercially savvy, you’ll excel at liaising with a diverse group of stakeholders, collaborating with others and working in a complex setting.

Ready to tackle everything with a can do attitude, you easily engage, build relationships and work with others. You should be able to analyse large detailed datasets to validate root causes as well as help others find solutions using your advanced workshop facilitation techniques.

We’re open to considering individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, mining sector exposure is essential.

Success in the role will be ensured by your ability to solve complex problems, significant experience and:

  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant field e.g. Engineering, Business, Science, Legal or related discipline
  • Good understanding of business improvement principles and practices
  • Postgraduate qualification (eg. MBA) is preferred but not essential
  • Track record in delivering projects
  • Substantial facilitation and workshop experience
  • Well-developed analytical and problem solving capability
  • People leadership skills and strong safety mindset
  • Ability to positively influence and engage with large stakeholder groups

Where you’ll be working

This position is being offered on a full time basis, working Monday – Friday. We are open to discuss flexible working arrangements.

You’ll be based at our Perth CBD Central Park premises in Western Australia, with ad-hoc travel to operational sites in the Pilbara (four nights per fortnight average).
