We are working exclusively with Next World Enterprises on this exciting, brand new role. Next World Enterprises is building the next world of safety, training, and inductions through Virtual Reality.

With 11% of all workplace deaths related to falls from heights and the leading cause of confined space entry fatalities is inadequate training, VR offers a safe and controlled training ground for individuals to get the training they need to save lives.

As they head into the next iteration of the company, they are looking for a Discipline Lead who specialises in C#, Unity and building frameworks and VR development tools for future-use by the team.

Your role plays a pivotal part in how Next World Enterprises will transform how safety, training, and inductions are done industry-wide and in turn, save lives!

As the VR Solution Architect, you will use your prior industry experiences and solution architecture experience to build frameworks, tools and shared elements that can be used by the team to quickly and efficiently build off-the-shelf VR solutions. Your core focus will be building scalable and reusable code for the VR team to draw upon.

This role is about setting the framework for the Development assembly line/manufacturing factory for VR learning experiences linked to high-quality insights.

The role will also be involved in leading external teams (international and local).

The Role:

  • Be the Subject Matter Expert for C# and Unity
  • Lead the design of the software architecture, code planning and code structure
  • Work collaboratively with the VR development team to identify repetitive code tasks that can be turned into shared elements, tools or frameworks
  • Code, troubleshoot, test, and maintain core product software and databases, to ensure strong optimization and secure functionality
  • Participate and provide technical leadership in all phases of a project from discovery and planning through implementation and delivery.
  • Transform detailed requirements into a complete, detailed systems design documents
  • Be the leader in developing a large, reusable codebase that all team members can draw upon
  • Leverage your experience in industry and commercial learnings to identify gaps, opportunities and risks
  • Set the framework for the Assembly line / manufacturing factory for VR learning experiences
  • Be involved in leading external teams (International and local).
  • Work with interesting and innovative hardware devices and software platforms, creating responsive, innovative and reusable solutions every day
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, communicating with technical and non-technical team members, stakeholders and clients (bring them on the journey!)
  • Investigate, recommend and implement best practice, innovations and change as well as a new practice in product development
  • Lead QA testing processes and disciplines
  • Produce technical documentation for reference and reporting
  • Research and be constantly learning about emerging technology – our client wants to continue being an industry leader and pushing technology to its limits. To do that, they need your help!

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years’ industry experience with an outstanding shipped application/game and/or portfolio of work to show off!
  • Minimum of 5 years experience with C# and Unity
  • Experience writing systems, frameworks or tools for game development.
  • Proven experience building frameworks and tools to create reusable, off-the-shelf elements
  • Experience with version control (e.g. Git) and VR product development and deployment via the web
  • Familiar with multiple types of VR hardware (e.g. Oculus Go, Oculus Quest)
