Lead all aspects of the afternoon shift in a high-functioning production team. Ensure the safe and efficient manufacture of automotive systems and components.

Client Details

Our client are a manufacturer of automotive systems and components for use in personal and commercial vehicles. Based in Melbourne's Eastern suburbs, they have a strong focus on product development and innovation. Due to a period of growth within the industry, they require an Afternoon Shift Leader to help lead the team.


Reporting to the Production Manager, responsibilities will include:

  • Managing all aspects of the Afternoon Shift (OHS, resource allocation, site security, maintenance)
  • Drive/implement continuous improvement activities
  • Supervise staff and plant efficiency to optimize output
  • Upskill staff to reduce waste and minimize safety issues
  • Review and report on shift KPIs and general performance
  • Manage the handover process between shifts
  • Assist in growing the team to meet demand
  • Resolve issues within the team during shift


  • Demonstrated ability to lead a successful team within a production environment
  • Track record of successful continuous improvement activities
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Take a safety-first approach to work
  • Proven leadership skills when managing diverse teams
  • Hold a valid Victorian Driver's License
