About the role

We are looking for a Planner MEM to develop and plan maintenance work to ensure timely and effective decision making and planning of scope according to the integrated planning process.

Reporting to the Senior Planner and working in a diverse team, you will be:

  • Provide planning support to Maintenance Supervisors, area planners and specialists to ensure schedule and commitments are met;
  • Carry out ongoing cost tracking and budget forecasting with tools provided;
  • Adhere to budget, report and minimize out of budget expenses whenever possible;
  • Manage materials for shutdown execution;
  • Monitor tasks for statutory compliance, quality of work orders and cost estimates;
  • Review metrics/KPI's and reports from business systems and identify improvements;
  • Identify and participate in continuous improvement activities.

What you'll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Mechanical Trade certificate or diploma;
  • Experience with plant shutdown/turnaround activities, including planning, resource requirements, cost management, material reservations;
  • Proven experience in operational / production environment with an understanding of project management and project planning methods;
  • Experience with SAP;
  • C Class Drivers Licence.

This role is for applicants residing in or willing to permanently relocate to Western Australia. Rio Tinto offers Fly in and fly out options from Perth, our regional FIFO hubs and the opportunity to live in our residential towns where applicable.
