How will I Help?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cash Distribution Specialist to join our Cash Sourcing and Distribution team. This is a critical role in managing the Group’s cash requirements.

As a Cash Distribution Specialist, you will be involved in sourcing and managing Westpac Wholesale Cash position to meet the demands of internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing depot cash portfolio to service bank and commercial client banknote and coin requirements
  • Managing daily and monthly reporting processes with focus on automation and continuous improvements
  • Increasing the accuracy of data models used in forecasting to minimise unforeseen impact on depot operations and customer demand
  • Review and critical analysis of contracts and policies relating to banknote distribution
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting to RBA and RAM alignment with legal compliance and regulatory framework
  • Depot Cash Management Performance Measurements - Data Collection and Analysis.
  • Trading cash with the other banks
  • Analyse cash demand and flow through out Australia to optimise Cash Holding.
  • Selecting appropriate vendors with the ability to provide transportation facilities
  • Creating process flow and documentation to proficiently handle related processes
  • Load / Import required data daily into the system and validate entries to ensure accurate information and integrity to ensure data integrity
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting and daily processing of all required files, ensure all payments occur on time and are delivered in full.

What do I need?

You will be responsible for achieving targets by pro-actively developing and sourcing opportunities in assessing and determining Westpac's National cash requirements by appropriate trade or transfer, and with due regard to inter-bank exposure limits, depot ceilings and transport, and holding costs.

As well as this you will have:

  • High attention to detail – the ability to get things right first time, every time
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Be process driven – be able to work with multiple IT systems and be comfortable navigating these and have a continuous improvement lens
  • Have exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal, and the ability to liaise with stakeholders of all levels
  • Be agile, work at a fast pace and demonstrate initiative
