THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for a registered midwife for a short term contract located an hour from Cairns. You will be working in a midwifery run unit that sees approximately 200 births per year. The unit has 2 birth suites, 3 maternity beds, consultant rooms and nursery in addition to the paediatrics and surgical ward. You will have a caseload of mother, where you will following them through antenatal and postnatal and then through their delivery. Home visits will be required.

THE LOCATION

This role is located 1 hours from Cairns. The township is picturesquely situated at the junction of the North and South Johnstone Rivers, approximately five kilometres from the coast.
Its a beautiful green town and gives great access to the great barrier reef with Cairns only a short drive away
You can also enjoy cooling down in Josephine falls on your days off or head to the famous Etty Beach

THE CRITERIA

• Current AHPRA registration
• Recent Birth Experience
• Antenatal & Postnatal experience required
