Executive Manager - Product Development

How will I help?

Westpac has commenced an enterprise-wide transformation to become one of the world’s great service companies, operating as a 21st Century Bank, with our customer capabilities digitised by a modernised technology architecture. The transformation aims to implement a ‘One Bank’ operating model. The Customer Service Hub (CSH) initiative is a key enabler of the transformation. This program is divided into three phases. The first of these phases focuses on home loan origination and is coming to an end, with the second phase commencing focusing on Transaction Banking, Credit Cards and Commercial Lending.

As the Executive Manager, Product Development your role is to further develop and drive the strategy and deliver the program objectives of digitising customer journey, reducing processing time, and reducing business effort. Ultimately getting to a one bank, multi brand model. You will be responsible for strategy development of journey target state and associated business case(s) as well as outcome delivery. You will also be responsible for engaging with and managing expectations of senior executives and a wide range of stakeholders, with ability to influence and tell impactful stories. Additionally, you will be an indirect lead to the boarder team (design, delivery, test and channel management), fostering a high pace / high performance but collaborative culture, and celebrating success.

What do I need?

For a start, you're a firm believer in delivering a better banking experience. You're great with people, you're proactive, goal-oriented and motivated. You will need proven track record in this field with 10-15 years in Product Development/Product Owner experience. You will possess relevant strategy development and product development experience in medium – large transformation programs, preferably in the financial services industry, and have the ability to shape the scope of the role while working independently and autonomously. You will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, an understanding of the banking, finance or professional services industry, have strong relationship and stakeholder management skills and be self-managing. You also have the ability to work in an agile environment with core knowledge of agile framework and be able to navigate ambiguity and show flexibility in a dynamic environment with a high/ fast rate of change. Additionally, you will bring strong commercial understanding and be highly analytical, with ability to justify commercial impacts using qualitative and quantitative data points. Building strong relationships comes second nature to you; your excellent communication skills mean you thrive working in parallel with cross-functional teams.
