Salary Range: $95,885 - $101,033 per annum pro-rated (Plus superannuation and shift allowance)

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a supportive department to accomplish great things – including supporting the OT department to expand their services across the Hospital in the Home (HITH) program.

Calvary Public Hospital Bruce (CPHB) is currently seeking a senior clinician to lead the expansion of our Occupational Therapy services into the HITH team. Experience and expertise working with clients from Neurological, General Medical, Surgical and Critical Care caseloads is highly desired.

The role is available on part time 6 month contract from March 2021 (with possibility of extension), and provides a great opportunity to develop your leadership and service development and evaluation skills. You will be embedded within the Acute care team of the OT department, which consists of 2 senior Occupational Therapists, 4 x Junior Occupational Therapists and 2 x part time Allied Health Assistants - who collectively provide all acute hospital Occupational Therapy services delivered at CPHB.

The Occupational Therapy department is committed to evidence based practice and there is a focus on continual professional development and involvement in research projects. The Occupational Therapy Department provides OT services across the CPHB campus, including dedicated teams covering the Acute and Mental Health clinical streams. The department is supported by a Director of Occupational Therapy, a Clinical Educator and has multiple senior and junior OT positions in addition to OT assistants.

You will be an enthusiastic senior occupational therapist looking to become part of a dynamic and high achieving team with the ability to:

  • Communicate effectively within the department and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Understand the philosophical direction of the organisation and the ability to apply it in the delivery of health care services.
  • Demonstrate highly developed clinical occupational therapy skills in an acute inpatient and community settings that are reflective of a holistic and evidence based approach in the delivery.
  • Demonstrate experience in service expansion and service evaluation to support the growth and development of the OT role within the CPHB HITH service.
  • Current AHPRA Registration (unconditional) and a Current Drivers Licence
