Network and Nostro Product Manager

How will I Help?

Westpac Institutional Bank manages the financial needs of corporate, institutional and government clients that are based, or have interests in, Australia and New Zealand. We are a leading provider of wholesale banking services in the area.

As the Network Manager you will take responsibility for all strategic and operational aspects of Westpac’s network of partner banks and Nostro accounts. You will have a deep understanding of foreign currency accounts and international payments and management of a network of correspondent banks. You will work closely with a large number of internal and external stakeholders to ensure our partner banks are working effectively with us and resolve any service or delivery issues. As payments are evolving the way we interact with partners, our needs will continually evolve so building a strong network is important to continue to deliver quality services to our customers.

Other core responsibilities include:

  • Managing network partnerships and delivery and identifying any new network partners when required
  • Building out the strategic set of accounts with the network partnerships to ensure there is resiliency in the network
  • Owning the end to end governance process regarding the selection and the execution of setting up the network partnership and functionality
  • Working with internal stakeholders to ensure that the partnerships are sustainable and are the best placed to support the Westpac Group
  • Monitoring the effectiveness of services provided by network partners, understanding costs and resolving issues
  • Ownership of the relationship with internal governance, audit, financial crime and compliance teams required for network partnerships
  • Managing cross jurisdictional requirements and relationships that are held with other Westpac locations

What do I need?

To be successful you will have the following:

  • 10 + years banking experience
  • 5 years + of payments product management experience
  • Transactional Banking services and international payments experience with a market leading institution
  • Extensive global network of payments vendors and providers including services for low value payments processing
  • Experience with payments operating models across international locations and jurisdictions
  • Good understanding of the current and future drivers of the payments industry landscape
  • Strong understanding of the principles of operational, financial crime and credit risk
  • Outstanding analytical skills with a particular focus on costs and value creation
  • Exceptional customer service/need focus with the ability to build solid relationships with all levels of stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
