Job Description:

The Business Support Manager is buyer focused. Their core function is to ensure an effective purchase-to-pay service in a demanding operational environment. They administer the Department's intranet buying portals and work with branch Category Managers to provide a simple, easy-to-navigate user experience across all products and services, for both operational and corporate buyers. They will administer the Department's procurement systems, business processes and policy communications to improve practice and ensure compliance.

The successful applicant will bring expertise in Purchase-to-Pay best practice in demanding environments. They will be able to see things as a buyer sees them, be strong in both planning and execution, and know how to introduce improvements for maximum buyer impact.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Qualifications or experience in financial management, procurement, purchasing management, or business administration, applied in a similar role
  2. Qualifications or experience in business process improvement
  3. Strong organisation and time management skills and ability to deliver results given competing priorities
  4. Reporting skills with the ability to run reports that assist in identifying non-compliance with procurement and purchasing policies and processes
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Ability to build relationships and work with cross functional teams to achieve procurement and financial management objectives.

Commencement Date: 4 March 2021 or as soon as possible after that date.

Cessation Date: 3 September 2021
