We are seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and enthusiastic person to the position of Manager - Strategic Advisory Services.

As a member of a collaborative and dynamic team, this role is responsible for leading business improvement and change management programs aimed at producing positive and sustainable outcomes. As an influential leader, you will provide advice and support in solving issues, creating value and improving performance across the organisation.

Commencement Date: ASAP

Cessation Date: 31 December 2021 (with the possibility of extension)

This selection process may be used to fill other similar temporary and permanent positions that arise in DFES within 6 months from the conclusion of the recruitment process. Applicants deemed suitable but not recommended may still be considered for those roles.



  • Significant experience and working knowledge in the development and implementation of change management strategies and plans in administrative and operational business environments
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification and management of innovation and business improvement processes and strategies
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to consult at a senior level and use influencing and negotiation skills to achieve positive organisational outcomes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with particular emphasis on change processes impacting on business and people
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and processes


  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
