In collaboration with Chartered Accountants (CA) Australia, Deakin University’s Faculty of Business and Law is proud to be delivering a new CA Foundations program providing a pathway for graduates to enter the CA X Program.

As CA Program and Relationship Manager, you will oversee the provision of the 13 foundation units to online students and also work collaboratively to facilitate communication with Deakin academics, the academic course director, invigilated examinations staff, information technology staff, learning innovations, administrative and teaching support staff, as well as CA ANZ staff to ensure the effective provision of the 13 CA Foundations Units, and the provision of revision materials, based on CA Foundations materials, to the CA ANZ students undertaking the CA X program. The position reports to the Head of Department of Accounting.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the main contact point for CA ANZ staff and oversee efficient operation of service offerings.
  • Responsible for ongoing management and quality control of the services through their lifecycle (overall service governance) driving a culture of quality and continuous innovation in the maintenance and updating of the unit offerings.
  • Oversee academic integrity and ensure the content of the 13 CA Foundation Units maps to the CA ANZ technical competence areas (TCAs) and selected professional competence areas (PCAs). Oversee the scaffolding of unit materials and activities to unit learning outcomes and monitor whether activities and assessment tasks achieve specific learning outcomes.
  • Use data analytics from each of the CA Foundation unit cloud sites and assessment tasks including the final examination to evaluate the efficacy (pedagogy) of existing materials and assessment tasks.
  • Lead and coach academic staff within the 13 Unit Teams managing foundation unit content.
  • May be required to teach into the CA Foundations Program.
  • Work in partnership with the Faculty Student Experience team and other teams within the Faculty and Deakin University more broadly to support the students.
  • Liaise with Deakin’s technical support staff ensuring the effective operation of Deakins ‘Seamless Technology Solution’ which includes a single sign-on by CA ANZ students and the end-to-end technology solution to facilitate the seamless transfer of information between CA ANZ/Deakin relating to enrolments, results, etc.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • A relevant tertiary degree, postgraduate accounting qualification and subsequent relevant work experience.
  • High level oral and written communication skills, including excellent demonstrated conceptual, analytical, problem solving, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Experience in administration, experience in administering tertiary teaching programs would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of CA ANZ requirements.
  • Prior teaching experience would be an advantage.
