With a strategy for continued business growth, we are growing our Estimating and Tender team. As such, we have a newly created opportunity for qualified and experienced Landscape Estimator to join our Estimating team. The Landscape Estimator is responsible for:

  • Completion of estimating/quoting/tendering on invited and open public tenders for landscape construction projects;
  • Procurement of materials and sub-contractor services on multiple commercial and open space landscape projects;
  • Liaise with current clients and initiate contact with new opportunities in order to grow the business by expanding and increasing the portfolio of work (architects, property developers, and other clients).

Experience in a similar role is essential, as your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the procurement process for contracted works, including sourcing materials, and engaging suppliers, subcontractors and sub consultants;
  • Coordinating the procurement of materials, equipment, suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Consulting with clients, landscape architects, designers, suppliers, subcontractors and other stakeholders when reviewing and formulating estimates and pricing and resolving any cost estimate issues;
  • After winning the project, hand over and brief the relevant Project Manager;
  • Participate in project review meetings in with Project Managers and Foremen to evaluate actual results as compared with estimated costs; and
  • From these meetings identify process weaknesses and review supplier and subcontractor performance to improve delivery on future projects.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Certificate IV in Building (Construction Estimation) or a Diploma of Building and Construction or Degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • At least five years background in Estimating, Procurement, or Landscape Design within the Landscape industry;
  • Strong computer skills in using Estimating Systems, Microsoft Office with intermediate skills in MS Excel and MS Project;
  • Previous experience in preparation and evaluations of RFQ’s;
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with sub-contractors and suppliers in Melbourne
