JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a small family-owned business with an auto electrical workshop, parts shop, and online shop.

We have an amazing team here; everybody treats each other with respect, and we all lend support and look out for each other.

We are currently in the process of creating processes for wholesale and export and need someone who has experience in working in the import/export industry. You will work closely together with the manager and directors and will be responsible in building a network of shipping provides and all other aspects of import/export.

Tasks in this role include:

  • Export including raising required paperwork and export documents, liaising with shipping agents for products being exported / loaded from Australia ensuring compliance of all paperwork per shipment.
  • extending our shipping partner range (domestic and international)
  • build relationships with and track costings with shipping and customs agents
  • researching material suppliers and obtaining quotes
  • Using the company warehouse management software to process orders (training will be provided)
  • Raising invoices, statements and credit notes
  • Assisting with critical day-to-day administrative duties
  • Other duties as required (we are a small team and all help each other out)

Our ideal new team member has:

  • experience in import/export (essential)
  • experience in dealing with shipping companies domestic and internationally (essential)
  • experience in wholesale (desirable)
  • Great computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent communication skills (orally & written)
  • Strong organisational skills
  • A friendly nature
  • The ability to follow office and workflow procedures and be proactive to think these through and help develop these further while the business grows
  • A positive attitude and approach to problem solving
  • A positive approach to working in a team and the ability to follow instructions and also work independently
  • A pro-active approach to the required duties of the role, and outside the role
