Job Description

An opportunity exists for a motivated, enthusiastic and technically minded individual to join our site in Wangara as a Machine Operator and 2IC Team Lead. This site currently serves a large and active market by supplying market leading products to the construction/heavy industry sector.

Your primary responsibility as a Machine Operator will see you work on specialized heavy fabrication machinery that shapes and cuts building products into our customers’ requirements. Additionally, this role will encompass various 2IC support functions that will report into the Operations Manager, such activities will include reporting and customer inquiries.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has worked in either heavy industry processing or manufacturing environments (or sick of FIFO) and has an appetite to develop their career into a leading hand or team leader role in the future.

Your day to day activities will include some of the following:

  • converting flat steel coil into building products and to pick and pack store items and load and dispatch these products;
  • servicing customers that attend site whilst ensuring customer waiting time is kept to a minimum; and
  • assisting and operating several types of hydraulic bending equipment.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally you will possess the following, or similar:

  • skills and experience in a production / manufacturing / heavy-industry based environment;
  • the ability to work autonomously and as a part of the team;
  • high attention to detail;
  • a mechanical mindset;
  • a current driver’s licence; and
  • commitment to workplace safety.

If you have a strong work ethic and a willingness to step up and learn new skills, we would like to hear from you.

We would also consider recent mechanical engineering graduates with some prior industrial experience who would be willing to learn and develop their career.
