Chemostrat are the world leaders in providing high quality stratigraphic services around the globe. We are seeking a geologist to join our Perth team to:

  • assist in the delivery of technical services for Chemostrat PTY Ltd as part of the International division
  • contribute to the completion of technical studies in the fields Chemostratigraphy, Stratigraphy Provenance, Rock properties and Sedimentology
  • undertake sampling for Chemostrat studies (including fieldwork, core store sampling)
  • assist in sample preparation if required
  • following training be proficient with the operation and data QC of Chemostrat’s portable analytical equipment (ED-XRF, HH-XRF, FTIR, Mag Sus
  • undertake Portable Solutions services in the Chemostrat labs, and externally in corestores, in the field or at wellsite (if required)
  • Following training, QC data, graphical model and complete written reports for elemental chemostratigraphy (ICP, XRF), XRD, petrography, heavy mineral and geochronology, C-O isotope data for stratigraphic correlation, provenance and reservoir quality studies
  • undertake presentations internal to the team or externally to clients or at conferences.
  • undertake traveling (globally, when permitted) to fulfill the delivery of Chemostrat studies
  • Maintain Chemostrat H&S and Q&S protocols
  • Attend sales meetings / and other promotional activities for Chemostrat as requested

The right candidate will:

  • be motivated by independent learning
  • have a strong knowledge of ArcGIS
  • be astute; high level of attention to detail
  • Have relevant geological experience / background
  • ideally have some experience of geostatistics, R and Python & Spotfire
