About the company:

Currently our Sydney office is recruiting for a Trainee Chemical Process Operator to work within a global chemical manufacturing company that supplies products to a wide range of markets including construction, paints, mining and homecare. Based in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney this company has 24/7 manufacturing.

About the role:

This role reports into the Production Area Manager and you will be trained to operate plant equipment and to follow standard operating procedures to ensure adherence to strict quality and safety standards.

This role would be ideal for someone starting their career and interested in a role that requires a mechanical mindset.

This position is a physically demanding role and you will be required to have a strong commitment to safety standards. This chemical manufacturing environment operates a range of technical equipment including reactors, heat exchangers, distillation columns and pumps to process highly reactive chemicals and to manufacture a wide range of products.

Please note our client can place the successful candidate through certification/ticket training as required.

Training provided for duties such as:

  • Monitor high hazard chemical processing and chemical storage systems
  • Understand, control and troubleshoot chemical reactions, process flows, temperatures and pressure systems
  • Operate a range of chemical plant equipment including pumps, valves, pressure relief devices and compressors
  • Take samples and conduct quality control tests to monitor processing and to ensure standards are met
  • Ensure a high level of compliance to strict quality, safety and environmental standards at all times.
  • Fill out plant reports and logs as per shift requirements
