Our client, a federal government department that represents Australia's national interests across agriculture, water and the environment have two vacancies for Stakeholder Engagement Officers (APS6 & EL1 equivalent) to work in the section that is responsible for providing strategy and support to the Water Division on stakeholder engagement, including with Indigenous engagement. This team is also responsible for ensuring a strong collaborative culture in the division.
 
As the APS6 your duties may include;
 

  • Supporting the division’s stakeholder, communication and culture function by:
    • developing and implementing stakeholder and communication plans for policies and programs
    • contribute to and manage the division’s internal communication, culture and capability strategy implementation
  • Undertake stakeholder engagement activities in line with engagement plans.
  • Provide timely advice and support to Divisional teams regarding stakeholder and communication materials including stories for internal channels, web content and Division Head emails.
  • Develop messages and materials that are tailored and relevant to different audiences.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication and/or engagement strategies to ensure continual improvement.
  • Manage the procurement, selection and delivery of consultant work as needed.


For this role we are seeking APS6 candidates with the following;

  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to write clear, accurate and succinct materials for different purposes
  • Strong administrative, planning and organisational skills, including organising own work and meeting deadlines
  • The ability to build and sustain relationships, and work with a range of stakeholders and clients internal and external.


As the EL1 your duties may include;
 

  • Provide strategic advice and support to the Division on internal and external engagement, culture and/or communication.
  • Develop and implement engagement and/or communication strategies to demonstrate the Australian Government’s commitment to work with communities and to support the priorities and projects of the Water Division.
  • Manage the delivery of engagement and/or communications services for the division.
  • Demonstrate leadership through contributing to the strategic direction of the Division and the Division’s culture.
  • Develop messages and materials that are tailored and relevant to the audience.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of communication and/or engagement strategies to ensure continual improvement.
  • Manage the procurement, selection and delivery of consultant work.
  • Provide direct supervision for APS level communication staff, fulfilling related HR, financial and reporting obligations.


For this role we are seeking EL1 candidates with the following;
 

  • Experience working in large, complex ICT projects.
  • Experience working with Federal Government ICT initiatives.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Experience in managing project schedules, budgets, reporting requirements and delivery of project artefacts.


 
These positions will be based onsite in Canberra, ACT and will be offered as hourly rate contracts (APS6| EL1 equivalent) notionally for 6 months.
 
In addition you will need to be an Australian citizen, with a Baseline security clearance or the ability to obtain.
