JOB DESCRIPTION

Federal Government APS 6 role, CBD location and immediate start. Work for an agency who strives to give mental health and suicide prevention national attention, to influence reform and to help people live contributing lives by reporting, advising and collaborating. This initial three month role contributes to the overall work of the Communication and Engagement Team. Reporting to the Director, Communication and Engagement, the Digital Development Officer will build web components, problem solve and provide ongoing maintenance to digital platforms and channels.

The successful candidate will assist the Commission to digitally deliver a range of projects and content, assist with a website redesign and the launch of Engagement HQ across the agency.

The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter and digital all-rounder with high level back and front end development experience, project coordination skills, and experience coordinating a website redesign.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate a website redesign including layout and functionality
  • Liaise with other developers and stakeholders
  • Work alongside the Senior digital communications officer to develop a strong user-friendly design for website and digital reports
  • Load content into a Kentico CMS using JavaScript, HTML5 and Tableau. (Data entry)
  • Develop and deliver purposeful content for the Commission’s communications channels, primarily the website
  • Provide developer input to the development and coordination of stakeholder engagement digital platforms including Engagement HQ
  • Ensure all content is accessible and meets WCAG requirements
  • Liaising with external agencies and stakeholders as necessary
  • Provide logistics support for significant projects, as required
  • Establish and manage relationships with external agencies for specific projects

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in developing creative and graphic designed digital content
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, including proof reading, and online content creation
  • Demonstrated experience in managing website platforms – content and technology CMS
  • Demonstrated experience in proof checking publications and managing the publication requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in monitoring social media channels of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of the mental health sector would be an advantage
