Our client, a reputable Business Services Law Firm is searching for a fantastically skilled Legal Secretary to illustrate their passion for corporate law and support their team in a variety of tasks.

The firm prefers to see themselves as professionals rather than business people and for that reason strive for excellence in areas where they specialise to include Corporate, Commercial Litigation, IP, Property Development and Banking and Finance to name a few.

The Firm has really worked on their positive culture and with that, you will feel as though you are working at a smaller law firm, but within a large team and at a firm who holds a marvellous reputation for their specialisms.

The Firm is based in Melbourne CBD close to transport, restaurants and shops- excellent for the new-found freedoms!


The Corporate team accounts for around 20 employees made up of lawyers, partners and legal support. The team culture is a get to know everyone environment, regardless of job title- also providing an open door policy with any queries or questions.

The role itself will work for a team of lawyers to include a partner and a couple of senior associates that complete corporate and M&A type work.

Some of those duties you will see in your day to day will include:-

  • Diary Management
  • Drafting letters to clients and other parties of matters
  • Taking calls and messages on behalf of lawyers
  • Drafting and amending contracts and agreements
  • Expenses
  • Monthly billing
  • File Management
  • Arranging room bookings and catering for client meetings
  • Digital dictation typing
  • General administration tasks where required

The position on offer is permanent and full time- Monday - Friday- usual office hours.


To be successfully contacted as being suitable for this position you will have had prior experience in a law firm, the ability to complete billing, a professional demeanour and happy to work under pressure and sometimes tight deadlines.

You will also have:-

  • a minimum of 2 years solid legal secretary experience
  • previously used a legal filing system
  • an excitement to have a long successful career at a professional and fantastic law firm

If you have had corporate/M & A experience previously this would be advantageous and place your application higher in ranking than other applying candidates.
