Description

The well equipped Commercial Litigation team are hiring for a switched on, meticulous and organised Legal Secretary who will provide seamless support to all aspects of their Litigation.

The team focuses on a variety of litigation types from dispute resolution, to mediation and employment law to name a few areas you could potentially be supporting.

The team is quite large boasting a team of 30 lawyers and legal support staff and every lawyer has a focus on litigation but each is specialised in different sector areas within litigation.

This opportunity is a little bit different and if you are looking for variety, then you have it right here. On offer is a full time and permanent role where you will support the general litigation team for part of the week and on the other days provide focused support to a small team- all within the Commercial Litigation team.

The position could see you provide the following support mechanisms:-

  • File management- hard and soft copy
  • Diary management
  • Booking rooms and arranging catering for the team
  • Drafting Briefs to Counsel and other court documents
  • Lodging court documents via the court portal system and in-person where time does not permit to complete it online
  • Putting together files of documents for litigation cases
  • Digital Dictation
  • Scanning and filing of documents
  • Billing on a monthly basis
  • Taking calls and messages on behalf of lawyers
  • General administration where required

This opportunity is one where you will make relationships across a smaller team, but also a wider team as well which not many other roles offer in the legal world.

Profile

To be considered as an applicant for this exciting legal secretary role you will need the following:-

  • At least 1 year of solid legal secretary experience
  • A willingness to learn and do all tasks on offer for a range of lawyers at all levels
  • Experience working closely with a senior secretary or team leader
  • Strong IT skills and have previously worked with a legal filing platform

It is advantageous if you have had billing experience and also Litigation experience (whether commercial or non-commercial).

This role is particularly ideal for those who may want to learn and have further exposure in the litigation space also being mentored throughout their working week.

The Firm is looking for longevity in this position and so you will be enthusiastic about a long term career as a legal secretary.
