Occupational Therapist Level 3

This is an Occupational Therapist Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

About the role:
The NECACS team is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join the friendly multidisciplinary team in ensuring excellent care is provided to the aged care community across the New England region. This position provides quality, evidence based support, consultation and supervision to OTs across the area in relation to the home modification process. The OT in this position will also have their own caseload providing a clinical service to clients who are eligible for CHSP funded aged care services and who require occupational therapy home and equipment assessments, recommendations and modifications throughout the New England geographic area. It involves regular outreach service to a large geographical area with occasional overnight stays. 

Although the majority of the team are based in Tamworth, there is potential for the home base of the suitable applicant to be negotiated within the New England region.

About the service:
The New England Community Aged Care Service is a diverse team comprising of Allied Health and Administration Officers with the primary focus of helping client’s in the community. The OT unit is a small team who work across the New England region providing a high quality service. 

About you:
We are looking for an OT with experience in the community setting who enjoys working both collaboratively as part of a diverse team and autonomously in a rural setting. You will need to be motivated, proactive and efficient in the way that you work due to the busy nature of the caseload. You will also need to have a high level of communication skills as you will be working closely with clients, builders, OT peers as well as other service providers. There is an ongoing commitment to quality improvement in the department which you will be actively involved with.
