An exciting opportunity for a highly motivated education leader to join the NSW Health Education and Training Institute (HETI).

This new role will lead a team of clinical, education and research professionals in designing and implementing strategic education initiatives for the NSW Health workforce. The position also oversights and advises on clinical education resources developed in a range of settings. The position reports to the Executive Director PPIC (Professional Practice and Interprofessional Collaboration) and will work with other staff across the organisation in the design, development and evaluation of evidence-based education. This role is responsible for achieving key organisational outcomes, and supports achievement of HETI and NSW Health strategic objectives.

Where you'll be working

The Health Education and Training Institute (HETI) works with health partners to develop contemporary and responsive health education and training to enable a world-class workforce. The role is based at 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards - a brand new, purpose-built campus that is well serviced by public transport. The building offers activity-based working with agile and flexible workspaces and the latest in technology, modern end-of-trip facilities, secure bicycle storage and lockers. There is an onsite cafe as well as plans for a 100 space child care centre.

What you'll be doing

In a whole of HETI role, lead a team in the design, development, delivery and evaluation of state-wide strategic education initiatives including design of innovative teaching and learning programs, lead concept development for new, contemporary clinical and non-clinical education and advancing the use of education technologies and other technologies to deliver education and training.

  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience working as a clinician (nursing and midwifery), and professional qualifications in adult learning or equivalent experience in senior leadership of education and training in health sector.
  2. Demonstrated high level experience in design, development of curriculum and successful program leadership within the Vocational Education, Tertiary Education or Health sector.
  3. Demonstrated experience in leading educational program design and development including curriculum development and delivery of education using mutli-media with a strong track record of partnering and delivering on time, and within budget.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary education approaches to instructional design methodology, learning needs analysis, content creation and delivery strategies to maximise learner engagement and learning outcomes.
  5. High level stakeholder management experience in complex settings.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication and consultation skills including demonstrated skills and experience in facilitation and presentations with sound knowledge of principles and application of adult learning.
  7. Demonstrated experience in senior leading role leading teams and high-level interpersonal skills and experience leading negotiations and building collaborative working relationships with diverse senior stakeholders for a mutually beneficial outcome.
  8. Demonstrated project management skills.
