  • Located in beautiful Jindabyne at the Gaden Trout Hatchery
  • Base salary range from $52,579pa (depending on qualifications, skills & experience)

About the Role

In your new role as Hatchery Attendant located in Jindabyne, you will assist with the general operations of the DPI Fisheries Gaden Trout Hatchery, salmonid fish production and stocking programs and undertake quality guided educational tours of the hatchery for members of the public.

Specifically you will undertake fish breeding, maintain hatchery records, implement fish genetic and disease control procedures and transport and stock fish. You will also maintain hatchery plant and equipment including ponds, tanks, pumps and filtration systems, hatchery grounds, operational and financial records and complete minor repairs to mechanical equipment.

 About YOU:

  • YOU will be customer-focused with exceptional communication skills.
  • YOU will have experience in salmonid hatchery production and fish stocking
  • YOU will have experience in the maintenance and operation of water re-circulation systems and small machinery
  • YOU will have the ability and willingness to work collaboratively under a variety of hydrological and climatic conditions
  • YOU will hold a current NSW Class C Drivers Licence
