The Division

The Greater Sydney Division is redefining integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play.

NSW is becoming more mobile and inter-connected than ever. The Planning and Programs division lead the planning, prioritisation and delivery of current and future investments across the network, through evidence based decision making, supporting the changes required to translate Future Transport 2056 strategic objectives into customer and community outcomes across Greater Sydney.

The opportunity

Transport for NSW has recently awarded three new Sydney Road Assets Performance (SRAP) contracts to three Service Providers to deliver critical road asset management and capital projects across three geographical zones within Greater Sydney.

We are seeking three highly experienced Senior Asset Managers to partner with the senior contract relationship managers for each of the three geographical zones (Harbour, River or Parkland), and manage the outcomes of the programs as the custodian for all roads and associated assets.

Reporting to the Director Sydney Asset, the Senior Asset Managers will act as the single point of interface with all stakeholders and will be critical to the management of roads network safety, performance and cost as you ensure these assets deliver on the desired balance of cost, risk, performance outcomes and framework requirements.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to play a significant role in the next generation of innovative road asset management contracts that will have a positive impact for our customers and communities across Greater Sydney for the next 9-15 years.

What you will be involved in

  • Managing a system for asset management that meets policy requirements and is suitable for adoption by all roads asset management functions.
  • Establishing asset management objectives and associated measures for all relevant asset classes to make informed decisions.
  • Leading and coaching a team and working with broader internal stakeholders to establish an asset management plan across all asset classes that delivers the desired balance of cost, risk and performance for stakeholders.
  • Managing a performance monitoring and evaluation approach, including identification and definition of performance measures and an audit program

About you

You are an experienced senior manager with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills and proven experience successfully managing a diverse asset portfolio across multiple asset classes.

In this role you will be required to work closely with the Senior Contract Relationship Managers (SRAP), Community and Place, Safety, Finance and a wide variety of other key internal stakeholder groups within TfNSW to make sure network outcomes are being achieved from an accountability perspective. As such you will need to be extremely collaborative and have strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to build trust, rapport and credibility with both your core internal client (SRAP) Asset) and all stakeholders.

Experience in asset management managing a diverse portfolio of assets where service delivery is outsourced, is essential (managing P & Ls circa of $100M). A CPAM qualification and background in Engineering are also requirements for this role.
This is an exciting time to join and have a seat at the leadership table as an integral part of building the vision and objective in the next 6 months for Future Transport 2056!
