Exciting opportunity to join the Department of Communities and Justice as an Occupational Therapist at Newcastle.

Full time temporary for up to 12 months with possible extension

About the role/ About the Opportunity

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team to:

Provide occupational therapy assessment, consultation, therapeutic interventions and professional services within a multidisciplinary team to support children and young people, their families and carers. There is also opportunity to further develop skills and expertise through ongoing clinical training and supervision.

This role sits in Please add unit/team .This service focuses on improving psychological wellbeing and decreasing the severity of trauma symptoms of children and young people in out-of-home-care.

This is ongoing role in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.

A GSE Compliant Recruitment Pool will be created to fill similar roles for both ongoing and temporary opportunities if and as they arise.

Essential Requirements

Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Current occupational therapy registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Current NSW driver’s licence

The Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 requires persons engaged in children related work to have Working with Children clearances.

If successful in this role you will be required to provide a Working with Children Check clearance number prior to commencing in the role. To obtain further information and to apply for a WWCC clearance. Please click here.
