About the team – Office of Responsible Gambling

An ongoing opportunity is available for a Manager to lead the Governance, Grants & Support team in the Office of Responsible Gambling. 

The Office of Responsible Gambling leads the development of responsible gambling strategy and supports and manages the Responsible Gambling Fund, the Clubgrants Category 3 Fund and Community Development Fund. The Office develops and implements programs and initiatives as part of a strategic approach that supports responsible gambling and prevents and minimises the risk of gambling related harm in the community. This role leads a team that manages open grant programs, governance and reporting for the three statutory funds and provides secretariat support to the Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF) Trustees. The role will work across a range of stakeholders, including RGF Trustees, community organisations, industry, internal stakeholders within DCS and other Government departments. 

To be successful in this role, the successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in:
•Providing high level Board secretariat and or/executive support, including preparation of board papers, minutes and meeting support. 
•Managing all aspects of grant funding programs to ensure transparency, efficiency and accountability of the process and administration
•Delivering outcomes in a fast-paced environment, ensuring multiple programs are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard. 
•Managing the expectations of a wide range of stakeholders where there are conflicting priorities and expectations and resolving complex issues within tight timeframes.
•Leading and motivating teams to deliver strong outcomes for customers, across all areas of their work.

Key challenges
•Identifying existing and emerging issues and providing considered solutions to inform decisions.
•Consulting and negotiating with diverse stakeholders, within agreed timelines, given their varying expectations, viewpoints, interests and sensitivity of projects. 
•Balancing competing demands to ensure project objectives are achieved to the required standards and within budget.
