Why is this role for me?

The role of the Business Development Manager is to generate new business by leveraging existing client relationships and prospect groups. You will look after the account strategy and sales process for the assigned licensee/IFA clients in the [SA/WA] territory. You will be responsible for the entire adviser offering, including investment and superannuation product research, investment and superannuation consulting services and managed accounts.

What will my day to day look like?

You will be responsible for Sales, Relationship Management and Business Management (Reporting and Admin).

You will:

  • Drive revenue growth - persuade financial advisers to use managed accounts
  • Prospect identified strategic accounts
  • Manage the sale process and closing the sale of products and services
  • Provide support to the Head of Wealth Management Sales and Executive Director
  • Coordinate internal resources to meet sales goals
  • Develop thorough and deep technical knowledge regarding the products
  • Manage relationships with assigned clients
  • Monitor each client engagement
  • Manage an engagement program with clients
  • Provide creative ideas for increasing sales and business relationships to grow the business.
  • Draw up contracts for new accounts and update existing contracts
  • Ensure all activity is appropriately recorded in the group-wide CRM system

What skills and experience do I need?

You are a strong BDM with excellent relationship building skills and the ability to think outside of the box. You are forward thinking, lead by example and have a passion for Sales and Research Products – especially Managed Accounts. You have proven experience selling to Dealer Groups and IFAs in Adelaide.

You have:

  • An undergraduate/post graduate degree in a Business, Commerce or Finance.
  • Experience engaging with clients in the wealth management industry
  • A track record for driving new business and closing sales;
  • Ability to leverage existing relationships in the financial planning industry;
  • Ability to effectively articulate the benefits of a research-based solution
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a close-knit team
  • Excellent communication, customer service and relationship management skills
  • Ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines
  • Sound knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products and website navigation
