As the Music Therapist you will provide a comprehensive Music Therapy service to patients, their families/carers, across all areas of SALHN as required by current strategic directions and/or as required. You will plan, document, implement and evaluate the Music Therapy programmes developed within the service. Lead education, promotion and research of Music Therapy services within the hospital and to external stakeholders. Assist in the implementation and development of the Arts in Health at FMC program, which offers a range of therapy-based and therapeutic arts activities and interventions that support patient recovery and promote health and wellbeing across the hospital community.

To be successful you will have an Appropriate higher education qualification in Music Therapy and eligibility for registration with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA). You will have the ability to undertake assessment and intervention with clients with a range of illnesses and disabilities relevant to older people, acute care and rehabilitation, be able to demonstrate a high level of musicianship and demonstrate a clear interest in people and psychology. You will have effective communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills. With the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads, you will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting.

This is a part-time vacancy, working 12hours per week and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked.
