About the Role...

The Service Development Officer is responsible for responding to customer service enquiries and seeing to administrative duties in order to support the Asset Operations and City Operations departments to achieve the overall strategic objectives of the Council.

The position will provide a high level of customer service by communicating effectively to internal and external customers, including usage of communication tools such as the two-way radio and other electronic devices as required and contribute to the efficient running of both Asset Operations and City Operations teams.

About You...

To be successful in this position, you will have high level communication skills, both written and verbal, when dealing with a range of customers including external clients and staff from all areas of Council along with demonstrated initiative, forward planning and time management skills and experience, able to work with minimal supervision.

 In addition, you will possess:

  • Demonstrated high level administrative experience, knowledge and skills including use of Microsoft Office and Council’s software systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to upskill in new Technology and Council software and systems.
  • Sound knowledge of administrative and financial systems and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policy and procedure.
  • Demonstrated research and analytical skills appropriate to the preparation of reports and documentation.

Incumbents in this position may be required to possess, or be willing to gain a National Criminal History Clearance or DCSI Clearance.
