JOB DESCRIPTION
Our client owns and operates over 4,500 ha split over 6 properties in the productive southern highland’s region of NSW. With 120 ha of centre pivot and solid set irrigation to produce fodder and some cropping, they are running on average 1200 spring-calving Angus breeders and 2000 Composite ewes to produce top quality fat lambs. This business also run an additional 3200 ha of mixed farming in the Cootamundra area.
The Farm Manager will play an integral role in the overall management of the Southern Highland’s properties. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be open minded and have a passion for agriculture.
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes –
- Have a background in a mixed farming business and sound knowledge of sheep and cattle breeding and management.
- Knowledge of pastures and irrigation systems ideal but not a necessity.
- The ability to manage, lead and inspire staff.
- Be an effective communicator and enjoy autonomy in a role.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to the GM.
- Have your own working dogs - ideal but not a necessity.
- Enjoy problem solving with a good range of practical skills.
- Heavy Rigid Truck license or be willing and able to obtain one.
These properties are in a very attractive location being only 30 kilometres to Moss Vale and an hour’s drive to the magnificent South Coast beaches.
