JOB DESCRIPTION

Our clients are a family owned and operated business with a very well-run farming property located 15 kilometres north of Gilgandra in the Central west region of NSW. Covering some 3,150 hectares they dryland crop around 2,800 ha, have a small yet productive Border Leicester stud along with 600 commercial ewes and do some opportunity cattle trading.


 
This innovative family are always looking at improving what they are doing and are highly passionate about farming and livestock, all machinery is modern and very well maintained running large Case tractors, 2 headers, SP Goldacre 36mtr boom spray utilising 2cm accuracy RTK GPS (Trimble) and 3mtr tram lining.
 
We are searching for someone who is extremely passionate about a career in Agriculture, you will need to have at least 1 year’s relevant experience with a cropping focus. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who is wanting to learn and be very well treated and be part of this family farming business.
 
To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following attributes –

  • Passionate about Agriculture and have a desire to learn.
  • Be punctual, energetic, honest, and reliable.
  • Be able to follow instructions well and work without supervision.
  • Chem Cert Accreditation
  • Experience in driving large farm machinery and operating GPS
  • Mechanically minded and have good practical skills (fencing and welding etc)
  • Appreciation of machinery and the welfare of animals.
  • Current driver’s license essential, heavy rigid licence a plus


You will need to be able to use your initiative and make decisions regarding the day to day operations, you will feel included and learning is supported, you will be able to go to field days and learn more about what is happening in the industry.
 
The successful person will be offered an attractive salary package Including house and work vehicle.
The house is a very comfortable 4-bedroom, one-bathroom residence with modern kitchen and reverse cycle units in every bedroom and living room.
Located close to Gilgandra, this supportive farming community has a very social Rugby League and Union teams and cricket is extremely popular during the summer.
