About the role

We have an opportunity for a auditor to be part of our Training Regulation team. The Auditor is responsible for regulating security industry training and assessment by conducting audits of Registered Training Organisations that are approved under the Security Industry Act 1997.

This role requires a combination of VET, auditing and investigative skills and experience. Applicants with previous regulatory experience are encouraged to apply.
This is a temporary role and employment is either as temporary employment under Rule 11 of the Government Sector Employment (NSW Police Force) Rules 2017, temporary assignment under Rule 15 of the Government Sector Employment (NSW Police Force) Rules 2017 or a secondment under section 95 of the Police Act 1990 up to 12 months.

Essential requirements 

  • Obtain and maintain the requisite security clearance for this role. Hold a current driver’s licence with no traffic offences recorded on their driving history within the last six (6) months. 
  • Hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (either TAE40116 or TAE40110 with additional units TAELLN411 – ‘Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills’ and TAEASS502 – ‘Design and develop assessment tools’).
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the Sydney Metropolitan area and regional NSW.
  • Willingness to work under a flexible rostering arrangement, which may involve nights and weekends as required.

In this role you will be required to maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in order to effectively conduct compliance audits. Where non-compliance is identified, you will need to work with all stakeholders to address and rectify the issue, as well as manage any ongoing enquiries and make recommendations. Referencing your skills and experience, explain your approach to managing these relationships.
