Be part of the implementation and delivery of a large-scale government advertising campaign

Your new company
This well-known Federal Government department is seeking and experienced PAO2 (APS6) Campaigns Officer to join a fast paced operational area in delivering of a national campaign and project requirements within an area that is benefiting a group of vulnerable Australians.

Your new role
Will be to work alongside and support senior Account Managers in developing a range of campaigns and communication requirements, including, but limited to;

  • Supporting the development and implementation of a government advertising campaign
  • Develop products, coordinate PR activities and a range of promotional materials
  • Deliver high quality communication, media and stakeholder engagement advice to client areas on significant public policies.
  • At times be required to research, edit and draft material for: media enquiries, media releases, social media, talking points, minutes, briefs, newsletters, fact sheets, communications strategies and plans.
  • Maintain strong and cooperative relationships with stakeholders and client areas on a daily basis, including Ministerial staff and other agencies.
  • Develop high quality communication strategies, public relations and issues management strategies and communication products.
  • Work with your Section and subject matter experts to provide responsive media handling and issues management on a daily basis.

What you'll need to succeed
At minimum you with hold a baseline clearance and have proven experience in a public affairs, stakeholder engagement, media or government communications at the PAO2/APS6 level. Prior experience in a similar role will ensure that you hit the ground running in this fast moving and career building contract.

You will need to have proven excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to deliver outcomes working under pressure in a high performing environment.

Formal tertiary qualifications in journalism, communication, marketing or related fields will also be highly desirable.
