About the company.

They are a Sydney-based, family owned and managed Quarrying, Resources and Recycling Company. Established in 1966, they grew from a Haulage Contractor to one of the largest resellers of quarried materials in NSW and with facilities in Chipping Norton, Belrose, Newcastle and Wollongong. They are also growing their market share in the Waste and Recycling industry. In 1978 the Company expanded into mining, acquiring a large sand resource at Chipping Norton.

The Sandy Point quarry has vast reserves producing products that include a range of sandstone including Washed Concrete and Construction Sands, Armour rock, gabion spalls, landscaping rocks and pebbles as well as a range of crushed products. This site will play an increasingly critical part in construction sand supply to Sydney's future and current major building and infrastructure projects already underway.

This is an "ongoing casual" Afternoon shift position (with view to permanent appointment) with daily overtime & weekend shifts available.

This critical role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the quarry facility ensuring all staff are supported and production targets achieved. Balancing operational & Production requirements, while maintaining safety requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following experience:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a team leader role.
• Certificate in Surface Extraction Operations
• Strong quarry experience.
• Knowledge of MS Office & Safety Systems
• Be confident in supervising and directing a team of operators.
• Experience operating an excavator or loader.
• Ability to perform maintenance when required.
• A strong focus on safety, adhering to all WHS legislation and practices and
