Due to an increase in work, we have immediate casual vacancies available for experienced Rio Tinto Track Protection Officers to join our team. This position will be based on a 2:1, FIFO roster out of Perth.

In this role, you will be supporting the civil construction team with their daily activities and will be responsible for providing protection for operational activities, contractors and staff working at track level.

The Role

  • Previous experience as a Hand Signaller / Lookout / Flagging / Train controller
  • Have the ability to undertake tasks with diligence and work independently or as part of a wider team;
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Possess a strong safety focus and willingness to adhere to both DGA and our client’s safety culture

Requirements for this Role

  • Working rights in Australia - Birth certificate, passport or citizenship certificate to verify
  • Proven experience in rail maintenance and has a good understanding of industry rail standards
  • Current Australian Driver's License
  • OHS Construction Induction card (white/blue)
  • 4WD Training
  • OHS white card
  • Rio Tinto inducted - Iron Ore Essential, Lock Holders, Personal Isolation (essential)
  • Rio Tinto M5 (essential)
  • Excellent safety record and previous FIFO experience
  • Be well presented and physically fit and able to pass a Category 1 medical - Including Drug and Alcohol Screen
