JOB DESCRIPTION

The Governance Policy and Coordination (GPC) Group is responsible for cabinet management, public sector reform, digital strategy and transformation, cybersecurity, government shared services, strategic communications, engagement and protocol, digital design and innovation, the Victorian Centre for Data Insights and the department's corporate services. The Group also has primary responsibility for supporting the Minister for Government Services.

As part of the Portfolio Accounting stream within the Finance Branch, the Senior Accountant position will provide financial and management accounting advice, transactional support, information and reports to their clients, the portfolio bodies.

This position plays a key role in the provision of commercial financial insight to drive performance and compliance, and research and develop recommendations, options and solutions to financial accounting and reporting issues, such as complex financial policy implementation to designated client groups within the department and the broader portfolio.

The successful applicant will be expected to act as a business partner across the Department and its portfolios and as a leader across the Finance Branch.
