Job Description

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to effectively partner with the business to provide commercial and financial management services for a portfolio of projects to ensure the achievement of project and corporate objectives. This includes developing financial models and strategies, decision support and analysis, reporting, planning, forecasting and input to project outcomes and decisions.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Partnering with project teams to optimise the commercial success of projects, the division and DV.
  • Provision of timely financial input, analysis and advice on business cases, investment committee and board papers, procurement processes and day to day operations to ensure stakeholders are provided with appropriate information to make informed commercial decisions and achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Development project feasibilities and financial models to enable scenario analysis, pricing strategies, procurement and strategic decisions.
  • Partnering with the development teams to prepare and review plans, forecasts and budgets at both a divisional and project level and manage planned outcomes within approved budgets, financial plans and funding arrangements at all times.
  • Ensuring all changes to approved financial plans, forecasts and budgets are reported in a timely manner to enable Management to adequately manage overall risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee taxation management and strategies for all projects within division to ensure compliance and to optimise GST outcomes.
  • Actively manage risks by systematically identifying, analysing, evaluating and treating risks that may impact on project objectives.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you:

You will have knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Experience working in a mid-sized, project-based, corporate organisation, within the finance/commercial/ business partnering field
  • Experience within the field of property development, construction or a related industry
  • Experience delivering and presenting complex financial concepts in a simplistic manner
  • Skills and experience conceptualizing, developing and presenting feasibilities/business cases and supporting financial models
  • Proficient in major financial, reporting and planning systems (TechOne, Tableau and preferred).
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and EstateMaster.
  • Intermediate skills in Word and PowerPoint.
