JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is a well-established company with sites in the Western Suburbs and is a leader in the logistics and transport industry. Due to its fast growth and high demand, our client is looking for an experienced

 Fleet Controller

 to take control of the movements of the client's container cartage fleet.

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as a key communication contact for operational activities 
  • Safe and effective allocation and scheduling of deliveries for a fleet of around 40-45 trucks
  • Direct supervision of around 40 -45 staff and support an effective working relationship 
  • Management of the Transport division's resources, vehicles and activities in accordance with company objectives and values
  • Manage bookings through the transport system of import and export containers to and from the wharf
  • Monitor the movement of the fleet of heavy vehicles
  • Preparing of reports as requested by the Transport Operations Manager and General Manager
  • In conjunction with the Transport Operations Manager, ensure that the client's transport services meet all the relevant regulatory requirements. 
  • Liaise with drivers and other staff on all operational issues
  • Communication with relevant departments for the scheduling of the vehicles' and trailers' maintenance
  • Adherence to all occupational health and safety requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Fleet controller experience- at least 2 years
  • Understanding of Fatigue Management Legislation
  • Sound knowledge of OHS, compliance requirements, and Chain of Responsibility regulations
  • Formal qualification in Business or Logistics is an advantage. 
  • Good work ethics
  • Excellent administration skills 
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to any type of working environment, especially a fast-paced one
  • Punctuality, reliability, and honesty is must.
