Curis Recruitment is proud to partner with this fantastic Aboriginal health service in the Northern Territory to help them find a Credentialed Diabetes Educator to join their team.
Job Details
You will be working for an Aboriginal health service who provide primary health care services to Aboriginal people of this remote region in the Northern Territory.
The health service looks after an area almost 150,000 square km and provides services to over 7500 people in the region.
The Location
You will be living in what some say is the 'real Australia'! A vast land with brilliant blue skies and boundless horizons. Kangaroo's darting across the highway, remote pubs with charm and ancient rock art and outback characters.
The town is home to 3000 people and is your authentic Outback town. There is one main street down the centre of town which is lined with trees and locally owned stores.
A trip to the supermarket becomes a community catch up as there is strong community feel.
On the weekends you can spend your time taking it slow in the great outdoors, swimming, four wheel driving through the ranges and exploring some of Australia's most stunning natural beauties and national parks.
Easily accessed via road at the intersection of two main highways. Also accessible by rail and air. The town has everything you need including supermarkets, cafes and pubs, hostels and motor ins.
The town also has a 20 bed hospital which offers acute care with modern facilities including an emergency department.

Job Details
- Permanent full-time position
- To commence asap (within the next 4 weeks may be accepted)
- Salary of between $94,498 - $100,965.00 per annum
- Salary packaging of up to $15,899.94 per annum
- Professional development allowance of $1,300 per annum
- 6 weeks annual leave

- Up to $5000 relocation assistance
- Contributes to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with chronic health conditions through better access to coordinated and multidisciplinary care.
- Contributes to closing the gap in life expectancy by improved access to culturally appropriate mainstream primary health care services (including but not limited to general practice, allied health and specialists) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
- Assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to understand diabetes and how to manage it.
- Advises on the importance of following a care plan, which may include structured support for diabetes self-management and assistance with care plan compliance.
- Work closely with the GPs and other health professionals to ensure that services offered to clients' meet contemporary standards for high quality care and consistency with diabetes treatment and management including telehealth consultations.
- Provide high quality diabetes nursing care to individuals with diabetes, their families and support network.

- Have full ahpra registration with no restrictions
- Strong Diabetes Education experience (minimum two years)
- Preferably have some remote area and Aboriginal health experience
- Have a graduate certificate in Diabetes Education
