About the role

Please note: This position will be filled from mid-April 2021 upon the retirement of the substantive officer.

The Trustee Services Directorate comprises the Trust Management Branch, Estate Management Branch and Private Administrator Branch.

The Estate Management Branch is responsible for the administration of the estates of deceased persons in accordance with their will or in accordance with the Administration Act 1903 where the person died intestate.

The Estate Management Branch arranges funerals for persons who die leaving no family or friends willing or able to make funeral arrangements and act on matters referred by the Department of Public Prosecutions or the Corruption and Crime Commission pursuant to the Criminal Property Confiscation Act 2000.

The Estate Business Manager is responsible for management of the Estates Management Branch to ensure that all services are efficiently and effectively delivered to external clients and ensures that staffing levels are maintained to meet business requirements. This position develops and implements estate management organisational and operational level policy and procedures and provides a consultancy service to staff on the administration of complex estate and trust matters. Prepares draft responses to Parliamentary Questions and to enquiries from the Minister and Ombudsman.
