Opera Australia – a performing arts company with a mission to perform some of the greatest music ever written to as many people as possible.

Opera Australia’s Development Department manages an integrated philanthropy, corporate development and engagement program to maximise individual giving and sponsorship in support of production and access activities. To ensure the Company’s continued success, OA is committed to significantly building on its individual giving activity and income from philanthropy and its corporate partners and now seeks a new Development Director to drive this change.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and an integral member of the Senior Executive, the Development Director will have strategic leadership and management responsibility for the Development team and all individual giving and corporate development activity. In collaboration with the Chief Executive, the Director will help to establish a more donor-centric approach across the organisation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate significant leadership experience in the management of development programs together with a track record of securing major gifts, particularly from high network individuals. Fundamental to success in the role will be a passion and enthusiasm for Opera Australia, its work, aspirations and values.
