APT Travel Group is undergoing a transformation from the inside out. It builds on our proud history and re-sets our business for a successful future.

As we embark on this ambitious omni-channel transformation, the Copywriter will be responsible for crafting inspirational copy and editorial content for APT Travel Group’s content marketing channels (print, digital, mobile, social) to support overall business revenue and success. The Copywriter will be the custodian of the voice of APT Travel Group’s house of brands; creating strong and compelling copy that engages and inspires our customers.

The position is also accountable for writing content that is accurate, thoroughly researched, SEO-optimised, social by nature, drives engagement and highlights the unique value proposition for each ATG campaign and product launch.

Responsibilities Of This Role

  • Write, review and edit copy content across all marketing platforms, including (but not limited) to APT Travel Groups brochures, member publications, direct mail, press advertising, websites, social media and eDMs
  • Fact check all written content (including competitor analysis) to ensure APT Travel Group has unique content
  • Establish, implement and maintain the tone of voice Brand Guidelines for APT Travel Group that ensures a unique position in market which aligns to our heritage and brand values
  • Participate and contribute to strategic, creative brainstorms for campaign activations, weekly content and social media content
  • Work closely with the Communications, Digital and Marketing Teams to ensure we have a consistent tone of voice
  • Work with Product, Communications, Digital and Marketing teams to deliver content that can be reverse published from print to digital and vice versa
  • Work with Digital teams to establish long tail phrases, SEO keywords, search and social trends to increase in SERPS for trip pages, destination landing pages, travel styles
  • Revise elements of content production deliverables to respond to in-market learnings and evolving context
  • Support the delivery of Digital projects and initiatives
  • Reporting against WIP activities and Copywriting team reporting requirements

Personal Requirements To Meet The Position Objective
  • Proven experience in a role that embraces omni-channel content marketing through content creation, optimisation and personalisation strategies and activities
  • A customer obsessed mindset, entrepreneurial thinking with a drive to increase revenue and conversation around content
  • Analytical approach and a strategic mindset with demonstrated success in leading strategic content initiatives and driving business improvement outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills with ability to communicate and influence all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills, project management skills, analytical and decision-making skills and ability to solve problems and overcome hurdles
  • Solid digital experience with a thorough understanding of digital marketing principles
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to create, develop and manage cooperative partnerships with agencies and suppliers
  • Highly creative professional with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work
  • Ability to work in fast-paced and challenging environments with strict timelines and stringent budgets
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines

Skills & Experience
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in digital, communications or marketing coupled with experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and experience
  • Demonstrated experience as a copywriter, preferably in travel, retail, media, eCommerce or equivalent business
  • A deep understanding of marketing for travel, lifestyle and retail
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to execute high-quality work under tight deadlines
  • Have a flair for building relationships at all levels of the business within and across teams
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Have experience in working under pressure in a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Have a positive outlook and can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of content management systems (Sitecore, WordPress etc) an advantage
