ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to continued growth in the business we are currently looking for an experienced Landscape Leading Hand, that would be an integral part of the continued success and growth of Urban Creativity. Reporting directly to the owner of the business, whilst using your technical skills in Landscaping you must be able to understand the scope of works and programming requirements. You will need to assist with scheduling, materials ordering and ensuring the job is running on time.

This is a hand's on position that will reward the right person.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Leading Hand Landscaper includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Train and mentor apprentices in all aspects of landscaping
• Experience working on high-end residential projects 
• Effective and safe use of all machinery on site
• Assist with toolbox talks
• Manage and carry out all landscaping works as per the contracted scope of works
• Ensure all staff onsite understand and adhere to all company policies and standards
• Show initiative with ideas, changes of procedures and problem solving skills
• Maintain strong communication with staff and contractors on site
• Successful delivery of projects to schedule
• Assisting with the management with project planning for existing and upcoming projects
• WH&S, Quality and Environmental Systems requirements to adhere with all company policies

 
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 
To be successful in this role we are looking for the following skills and attributes in the ideal candidate;

• At least 4 years' experience in Landscape Construction
• Strong industry knowledge and experience in leading staff
• Trade Certificate in Landscaping or equivalent
• Strong work ethic
• Drivers Licence
• Project planning and execution abilities
• The ability to guide your team effectively
• Reporting to management
• Client liaison skills
• Taking directions from management and executing instructions accordingly
