The Role

This role within Adelaide’s leading cemetery involves the upkeep and general maintenance of the cemetery grounds by way of lawn mowing, whipper snipping, mulching, hedging, pruning, and installing/troubleshooting irrigation.

The role may also involve working as part of the Crematorium & Burials team which includes setting up burial sites for funerals.

This work is fast paced, highly intensive and physically demanding and often involves working in adverse weather conditions. Communication, compassion and solid horticulture skills are key to success in this role.

This role will be offered on a casual basis with full-time hours.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will display initiative, enthusiasm, and have the ability to undertake labour intensive work outdoors. Together with this, the successful applicant will be capable of operating a variety of gardening machinery along with mobile plant if qualified.

The successful candidate will have a compassionate nature and display a positive attitude and work ethic at all times.

The Requirements

• Grounds and garden maintenance experience (essential)
• Horticulture certificate (preferred)
• Compassionate and understanding nature (essential)
• MR licence (preferred)
• Previous experience in a cemetery (preferred)
• Excavator/Front End Loader/Skid Steer licences (preferred)
