is a new, independent statutory body responsible for the administration of the Disability Service Safeguards Act 2018 (VIC), to improve the quality of disability care and service standards. This includes regulation of all disability workers in Victoria. The government has appointed Dan Stubbs, who is a person with a disability, as independent Commissioner, to establish and lead the CommissionVictorian Disability Worker CommissionThe The Disability Worker Regulation Scheme will formally commence on 1 July 2020. After that time, the Commission can investigate complaints about any registered or unregistered disability worker in Victoria. Our guiding principles include that people with disability have the right to exercise greater choice and control in their lives and receive high quality services. Registration and Assessment Officer (Special Measures)

Reporting to the Senior Registration Development and Board Officer, the Registration and Assessment Officer will be responsible for the processing and assessment of disability worker registration applications. This position will undertake a range of duties to ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of the registers of disability workers in accordance with the Disability Service Safeguards Act 2018 (Vic) (the Act). The position will be required to respond to telephone and written enquiries from stakeholders about registration and accreditation. It is expected the majority of these enquires will be expertly resolved in the first instance, with consultation or escalation to other team members occurring seldomly. This role will also provide secretariat support to the Disability Worker Registration Board of Victoria. This role will also support the continuous improvement and development of registration processes by assisting with data collection and analysis, and promotion of the registration scheme. 

A professional customer service work ethic, strong administration and analytical skills to process registration applications and contribute to the continuous improvement of registration processes will ensure success in this role.
