About Your Role
Based in Sydney, this full time permanent role provides specialist strategic and operational guidance and support to the HR community and people managers across Thales Australia and New Zealand dealing with grievances, workplace investigations, underperformance cases, terminations, injury and illness matters, conflict resolution and industrial disputes, to ensure that these matters are handled consistently, pragmatically and in line with Thales people and culture approach.
The role also acts as a subject matter expert for the HR community and business leaders across Thales Australia and New Zealand in regard to complex workplace relations issues, including enterprise agreement negotiations, dealings with trade unions, employees and other stakeholders in compliance with applicable employment laws and industrial instruments, as well as other relevant external requirements/obligations.
- To support business unit leadership team to ensure human resource strategies are implemented in compliance with applicable employment laws and industrial instruments, considering local market and business requirements.
- Provide expert workplace relations advice and guidance to HR business partners and managers on workplace relations legislation and other matters such as union negotiations, disciplinary action, industrial action, FWC matters.
- Provide advice/training/guidance and case management support to the HR Operations Partner team
- Support business unit teams with negotiations, drafting and settlement of disputes and/or agreements
- Liaise with employer bodies, government bodies and tribunals on matters affecting the Company’s activities
- Representing Thales at conciliation stage for both unfair dismissal, dispute resolution and adverse action claims at the Fair Work Commission
How About You?
- Extensive knowledge of and experience with Australian workplace relations and HR best practice
- High-level research and documentation skills
- Demonstrated skills with building strong, collaborative stakeholder relationships
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to translate specialist ER/IR knowledge into practical, business relevant advice
